Travel

If you will be using the subway while in Toronto, it is recommended that you purchase a Presto card ($6.00). Presto cards are available at ticket or fare machines at Union Pearson Express Stations and all TTC subway and bus stations.

 

From Pearson Airport
 

Union Pearson Express:


Union Pearson Express has trains between Pearson Airport and downtown Toronto. The trip to Union Station takes 25 minutes. A one-way ticket costs $12.35 ($9.25 with a Presto card).

The UP Express also stops at Bloor Station.  A one-way ticket costs $5.65 ($5.02 with a Presto card). The UP Express stop at Bloor Station is accessible to Dundas West subway station via Bloor Street, which connects directly to the St George, Spadina or Bathurst subway stations.
 

900 Airport Express


The 900 Airport Express bus runs between Pearson Airport and Kipling subway station. Kipling subway station provides a direct connection to the St George, Spadina or Bathurst subway stations. The bus and subway trip only require a single ticket. A one-way ticket costs $3.25.

Taxi:
 

Taxis from Pearson Airport to downtown Toronto are a flat rate of $57. Be sure only to take taxis from designated taxis stands at the airport.

 

TTC Subway


The subway is the best way to move around Toronto; it is safe, clean and convenient. Trains run every 2-3 minutes; a 1-way ticket is $3.25 (cash or Presto card).
 

York University is a 33-minute subway ride (north on line 1 towards Vaughan City Centre) from the St George subway station. The York University subway station is in the middle of the campus.

Taxis/Uber
 

Traffic is bad in Toronto, especially at rush hour. Driving from downtown to York University can take 45-60 minutes. A taxi from downtown to York University is approximately $50-$60.

 

Parking at York University
 

If you are driving, parking is available on campus. Covered parking garages are $20/day; outer parking lots are $10/day. Credit cards are needed for payment.
